Coriander Properties: Stimulating, strengthening, stimulates appetite, carminative, promotes intestinal function; antibacterial and parasites, disinfects, analgesic.

Coriander Indications: Asthenia, exhaustion; digestive complaints, aerophagy, fermentation in intestines, constipation; bladder inflammation; influenza, arthrosis.

Coriander Main Components: Alpha-linalool (= coriandrol), geranyl acetate, alpha-beta-pinene, gamma-terpinene.

Coriander Contraindications, side effects: None known for normal dosage.

Coriander is a strongly aromatic annual herb which grows to about 1 metre high with bright green delicate leaves, umbels of lacelike white flowers, followed by a mass of green (turning brown) round seeds.

 

Coriander essential oil is a colourless to pale yellow liquid with a sweet, woody-spicy, slightly musky fragrance.

 

Therapeutically, it has been mainly used as an infusion for children's diarrhoea, digestive upsets, griping pains, anorexia and flatulence.
