Lavendin Grosso, a hybrid, is named after a Monsieur Grosso and is the dominant variety grown. In some years it can produce a good essential oil with a finer aroma than true lavender. Slightly camphorous in fragrance, it is the most popular lavender of the toiletry and soap market.
It is generally lower in cineole than Lavendin abrial.
